"Ugh", Ayla mumbled in her sleep. Her face looks as if she is in a lot of pain.

"Did you bring cold water?" Kylie asked.

"Yeah I did", Jenny placed the cold water down beside the bed while Kylie started placing it above Ayla’s head.

"Ugh... Don’t...please", Ayla kept mumbling.

"Just what happened to her?"

"I have never seen her so miserable but today she looked so bad. As soon as I opened the door she fell to the floor while her body was burning like fire."

"Yeah I know but we can’t do anything unless she opens her eyes and expresses her feelings."

"But her fever kept on growing?" Kylie said.

"Should I call her a family member?" Jenny asked.

"You sure?"

"Why not?"

"You already know what happened the other day and what if something happened again when she is almost dying with fever?"

"But what if she dies without getting treatment?"

"No no, I will better call them before something happens", Jenny said and dialled their number while Kylie took care of her.

It took almost a day for them to reach their place but her health didn’t recover. Her fever wasn’t going down while she kept on mumbling in pain and her body was burning with fever.

"What happened?" Mr White asked in a hurry.

"Sorry for calling you all of sudden but Ayla has been having a fever for almost a day. She is not having food nor water let alone medicine ." Jenny explained while Kylie was standing far.

Mr White didn’t waste time but ran to her room and saw her helpless body.

He quickly let out his phone from his pocket and dialled a number.

"Please come here quickly", his call ended with a sentence. He didn’t even wait for the other person to skip but kept on patting Ayla’s forehead.

"What happened to you again?"

"Did you come to know something?"

"I hope you don’t"

"What if something happens again and I will lose you?"

"No no, it can’t happen. You are my daughter no matter what so please come to your dad", he kept on saying while his eyes were filled with tears.

"What have you made yourself now?"

"Didn’t we once promise you will share every single thing with me then why again do you start keeping secrets?"

"Is it because of Jace?"

"You could have said that I would have talked to him regarding this matter. I could have scolded him for behaving like this to you but how could you just keep things and make this situation of yours?"

"Am I untrustworthy to you?"

"Don’t you think of me as your dad anymore?"

"Just say what you wanted to me even if it’s hate from you I will bear with it so be well", he was holding her hand while he kept on crying when the doctor entered the room.

Mr White turned and said, "You could have come earlier?

"But how could I know she is in this situation?"

"I only have your contact, not your daughter’s. You know that", the doctor said while checking on her.

"Yeah, I still quickly look after her. Her friends were saying it’s been a day already and she is still sleeping with her hurtful facial expressions", Mr White started picking.

"Could you please calm down first? You are giving me anxiety, to be honest", the doctor replied.

"How could a doctor say this?"

"I don’t think you called me your doctor? If you called me as your doctor then I sure would have come an hour later not like leaving everything just to come here. Did you get it?" he looked annoyed.

"Yeah yeah I know so do your work", he said and stayed beside Ayla.

"By the way, is she the child I looked at eighteen years back?" he asked.

"Dan, you remember?" Mr White asked.

"Of course I do. How could I forget such a beautiful face", Dan replied with a gentle smile on his face.

Both of them had a gentle smile on their face but their anxiety level was high seeing her and hearing her continuous mumble with pain.

"Just what is happening here?"

"Why is she groaning in pain but not waking up?"

Mr White sounded impatient.

"I don’t know what happened but she may have had too much stress to get the fever otherwise she is all ok. Take the medicine and feed her anyhow so when the temperature drops she will wake up", Dad said and walked out of the room.

"You too come out, I need to talk to you", he said, turning toward Mr White.

As Dan came out Jenifer and Kylie were already standing at the door.

"What happened?"

"Is she ok now?"

"She is not serious right?"

They kept on asking.

"Yeah she is ok so you both can rest as we both will be here for a while", Dad said gently putting their head.

"Say, what do you want to say?" Mr White asked.

"What do you mean by saying? You know why I wanted to talk to you alone. Don’t you?"

"No I don’t understand." he looked away.

"How long are you going to hide the truth?"

"Truth? What kind of truth?"

"Taylor, when will you stop being stubborn?" his voice was cold.

"I said I’m not hiding anything nor I’m being stubborn so stop asking things." he tried to walk away but Dan stopped him.

"This is how you are stubborn. You too know who Ayla is, so why the hell are you ignoring the fact? She is already grown up. Maybe she is already 21 years old and now she needs to know the truth so tell her already", he said, pinning him to the wall.

"When I made the decision long ago no one ever said that there will be one day when I have to reveal the truth then why now?"

"Didn’t you too agree with me back then saying she will be my daughter from that day? Then why are you forcing me to say things I long want to forget or now you suddenly gain affection over my daughter and now you want to take her away from me?"

"If you are planning to say that then there will be no way I will give you my daughter. She is only mine no matter what." Mr White raised his voice.

"When did I say I want to take her away?" Dan asked.

Mr White stayed silent.

"I never said I want to take her away."

"I never said you have to give up on her as a father."

"So stop being so childish as if someone is taking your toffee that is why you are protesting like this."

"I’m no child", Mr White said in a low tone.

"But you sure are acting like one", Dan replied.

"If you don’t want me to act like this then don’t ever bring this topic up because there will be no time when I’m going to tell her the truth nor I’m going to give up on her. It’s an oath of mine and I will never let anyone break it."

"Then what will you do if she one day suddenly asks you if she is your daughter?"

"What will you say to her?"

"Will you just say it’s just her illusion?"

"Or you will act like this again to make sure that what she is thinking is right?"

"Something like this has already happened", Mr White said in a low tone.

"What do you mean?"

"When I was talking to her last night she all of sudden asked if I’m her father?"

"Why?" Dan kept on insisting.

"I don’t know but maybe it is because of Jace because there was an incident a few days ago when Jace said they don’t look alike nor they behave alike but I think that was not the issue still I wonder why she asked that?" he said.

"You kept the adoption paper in the right place. Don’t you?" Dan asked.

"I haven’t checked for long but I think it’s in the place I kept long ago."

"You should check first", he said.

"Yeah I will", as he said he heard a ring from Ayla’s room.

"Who’s having a call?" Dan said.

"Maybe Ayla?"

Both of them ran inside when they saw her phone kept on ringing without stopping.

"Who is it?"

"James?"

"James?"

"I only know one James Ayla knows then where the other James pops out from?" Mr White thought.

"What are you thinking?"

"No it’s nothing just let her sleep", he said and switched off her phone.

"Sleep well, baby. I hope you get a good sleep from now on", he said, patting her head.

Both of them again walked out of the room and went to the hall but seeing Jace and Mrs White was quite a surprise for them.

"You? What are you two doing here?" Mr White asked.

"I have something to talk about with Ayla", Mrs White said.

"But I won’t let you go to her", he said as if he was marking a line between them.
