"I will go and check on her", I said and started walking out of the room but he stopped me pulling me by my waist.

"Ah, what are you doing?" I was startled.

"She is sleeping in the upstairs room and how you are going to go up without anyone’s help", he said, making me realise that I can’t go up by myself.

"Let me take you", he said and carried me upstairs while wrapping a bed sheet around me.

Shit, I was naked and I was trying to go outside like this. What a dumb I m. I scolded myself while he took me upstairs because it was still early morning so no one woke up till now.

"Close your eyes ’, he told me when I started flinching seeing the stairs.

I don’t know if I am doing the right thing choosing him or not but having him by my side makes me feel safe just like how I felt seeing Ayla till now as she has the same vibe as him which I could never ever ignore.

He kept on walking and in a minute he made me stand in front of his room while I could barely walk properly as the sheet kept on making me fall entangling with my feet.

I went inside but I didn’t find Ayla. Again the anxiety took over me.

"W-where is Ayla?" I stuttered.

"She must have gone to the washroom", he said and went to check on her but later he came out and said there was none.

"Where is my Ayla?"

"You again didn’t do anything right? The way you did today?" I almost held him by his collar asking as if I was interrogating him.

"Ayla, calm down. I didn’t do anything. And why would I do it even when I have the one I love and my little child with me? Don’t you trust me ?" He asked.

"I know but what if all you said is a lie and trying to hide my child and push me out of your life again, snatching her from me?" I started panicking but his warm palm calmed me down and made me stay inside the room and went to find her in the other room while I was still waiting there.

Aaron came out of the room and walked toward James’s room. He knocked on the door but no one replied.

"James"

"Open the door!!"

His voice sounds normal.

Still, no one opened but the door was unlocked making him go inside. As he went inside he found three of them sleeping in the same bed while Ayla was cuddling him as if he was a bear and that is the same for James supporting her.

This time James woke up and saw him.

"What?" He was still rubbing his eyes.

"I will not give you my daughter, ever", he said, making him confused.

"What are you saying?" He asked.

"She was crying when she didn’t find you two so I saw her by chance and when I tried to find you two you two were having a good time so I brought her here without leaving her alone." He explained.

"Oh is that so?"

"Yeah, so don’t feel insecure anymore", he patted his shoulder.

"But how will you explain this?" Aaron pointed toward Chloe.

"You know the door was half open and what if dad walked by the door and see this?" He asked.

"Sorry, it left my mind", James replied while Aaron carried Ayla and walked toward the door where Ayla was waiting.

"Ayla?" He called my name, making me look at him.

"Here, Ayla", he said while I ran into him to hold her but when I replied she was still sleeping so I controlled my emotions.

"Place her on the bed", I said.

He didn’t ask me much but did as I said but I had some guilt lingering on my mind. Just how could I even accuse him when he was with me all this time loving me all night?

"I know what you are thinking so do think a lot and have a rest as I know you came all the way just because you are worried for her or you would have not been able to walk and shout after an exhausting night", as he said my face flushed.

I didn’t argue further but went to bed while he too wrapped his around my waist. Soon I fell asleep between Ayla and him.

At morning

I woke up rubbing my eyes and found Aaron getting ready. I hurried and checked the time but it was 9 o clock. That’s when I realized I was never a morning person, not now nor before.

"You? Are you going somewhere?" I asked as I don’t even know anything about much of his works.

"Yeah, I have a meeting today so I have to go early", he replied while Ayla was handing him his coat.

"Here, dad", she spoke in her little voice and smiled as he patted her head.

"Thanks, baby", he said, reminding me how he calls me baby as well.

I was still in a daze when I felt his lips startling me.

"I’m going, baby", he spoke to me in the same tone as he did to her.

I may be starting to get jealous of my own child.

"Don’t think useless things while I am away and make sure to be ready as we are going to talk with dad again after I come", he said and left.

I again started wondering how his life was before me and Ayla. Is he used to kissing like this before office? Did he kiss that girl the same way he did to me?

I can’t help but compare.

I snapped out of my thoughts and went to freshen up while meanwhile, I saw a presence in my room as I came out.

"What are you doing here?" It was the girl.

"I brought breakfast for you", she said in her little voice just how I speak when I get scared but now I didn’t even say much. How did I even scare her?

"You should take permission before coming to one’s room", as I said she looked up and looked at me.

"Ah sorry," she said.

Her behaviour makes me think as if she used to enter this room without any permission which she is doing till now.

"No need to," I said and sat on the bed.

"I just came here to thank you for staying here", she said.

"Of course, I will stay here. You don’t need to say thank you to me as it’s my room", I said.

"No no, I didn’t mean that way."

"Then what did you even mean?" I asked again.

She stopped again.

"What?"

"Nothing", she said and left leaving me in a daze.

I don’t have any idea what is happening around me but everything feels so hell confusing. I still couldn’t even make up my mind whether I should agree to his request or not. I know he explained the entire thing but still, there is something stuck in my head which is the anxiety I’ve been having for the past six years.

I was still thinking when I got a message on my phone.

I hurried and checked and found out it was Jennifer.

"Did you get there safely?"

"Sorry I was busy with my nighttime work so I wasn’t able to ask you", she messaged.

"It’s ok. Yeah I came here safely and many things are going on as well", I replied.

"Things? What do you mean? he found out?" She replied.

"Yeah I’m kind of off", I answered.

"Tell me in detail", she asked instantly.

"Not now but you will find out when you get here", I said, making her impatient.

"Yeah, I do like to hear from your lips as well. I have no choice but to wait for my leave", she sounded disappointed as she used a sad emoji.

"So did you decide to send Ayla to school or not?" She asked what has been on my mind for a year now.

"Yeah I did but I need to ask everyone as it’s been years and I know nothing about things here", I replied.

"Ok buddy, don’t take any stress. I will get back to you when I get free from work", she replied.

School? Is she even going to survive there alone? What if someone bullied her as I did? What if her school life ruins as well? No, I can’t take the chance. But I do want to send her too as she is nothing like me and if something happens to her she will just kick the person and run.

"I just need to talk to him or brother."

"Mom", I was thinking when Ayla came calling me.

"What is it, baby?" I asked.

"Today I studied letters from the aunt", she said happily, making me realise she was too excited to study.

"You want to go to school", I asked.

She thought for a while then she nodded making me worry less.
