Chapter 92: Iris: Sparks and spells

CAN SOMEBODY tell me why a large bouquet full of roses is sitting on my desk with a note with Lucas’ name on it?

It’s just happened that my shitty luck made me the last person to enter the office after everyone. Now I have to endure the embarrassing moment as I pick up the heavy flowers, their scent immediately filling my nose when I raise them.

"I miss you," it reads on the pink card when I flip it open. I instinctively look at the tampered glass masking his office’s view from us. It might sound a bit cliche but I think I feel him looking at my reaction from inside.

With that in mind, I wink at the glass, turning back to my flowers and inhaling their scent once again. A smug grin forms on my lips as though it’s a reflex and I flop into my seat. I feel giddy, like a Disney princess after they resolve the entire movie’s dilemma and start singing out of joy.

I mean, I feel like screaming too but I can’t. I don’t want my coworkers to think I’m a fucking idiot!

"Lucas asked to see you once you came back from eating," Clara tells me as she passes by my desk giving me a thumbs up and a somewhat crooked grin. I nod at her in thanks, setting my flowers neatly on the desk and leaving for Lucas’ office.

For someone who said they wanted to meet me, assumed that he would be in his office waiting for me. You can imagine the shock I feel when I see his desk empty even though his laptop is on and a paper cup of piping hot coffee is next to him.

"Hello? Lucas sir?" I slowly enter the large cubicle, glancing around in case I find him lying on the floor somewhere.

The moment I’m entirely inside, the door shuts behind me swiftly, blowing out a cold breeze as it closes with a low-sounding click. Then comes another click. It’s louder this time and when I turn around to see what’s happening, I know why.

Lucas is standing by the door, his hand on the lock that he just flipped. Holy shit, he locked us inside his office!

"What are you doing? The others might catch on to what’s happening soon enough."

Lucas takes three lengthy strides in my direction before pulling me to him, not in the least listening to what I’m saying. The moment he has my chin in his palm and starts rubbing my cheeks, all the worries drown away from me and I ease up.

Then he lowers himself onto me before our lips make contact. Hot and cold. Electrifying and warm. Goosebumps and butterflies. I feel everything surge all over my body at the contact our lips make. When he tips my head up to tear my lips apart with his tongue that threatens to overturn my brain inside out, I let out a breathy moan.

He smells and tastes like coffee. I hate coffee. I loathe it with passion, and yet, today it seems too delicious. The bitter taste twirled around my tongue as he runs it in my mouth is mixing with the strawberry flavor from the desert cakes I ate downstairs. It’s perfect.

We are perfect together just like those flavors.

Just when I’m thinking it can’t get any more passionate and hotter in here, Lucas makes it an inferno. His hand grazes my back, flowing down until he reaches my ass. He circles his fingers over there, heightening the needy sensation I have between my legs for him.

Then he stops abruptly. I moan in his mouth and grab his neck, putting all the frustration I feel from him stopping into this kiss. That is until he returns to groping my ass—this time with just enough force to make me arch my back.

We stand still like that for a few minutes, our lips being the only language needed to send waves of communication between us. The sound of kissing and matching breaths fills the office. Thank God it’s soundproof and has tampered glass all over because I’m sure we’re making a lot of noise with the moans and all.

Finally, we break the spell and pull apart, our eyes still glued onto each other as we both try to catch our breaths. Lucas is red from blushing. I’ve had sex with him many times now and the only time I’ve seen him blush this much was yesterday.

"Still care about others finding out?" He raises his shoulders as if to mock me. I laugh and roll my eyes as he pulls me closer to him.

"Says the guy who looks like a freaking tomato. You’re blushing so much you could actually start having a nosebleed anytime soon."

"You’re watching a lot of anime I see."

"It’s manga babe. It’s manga," I correct him. He feigns a nod, smiling at me with that same look that makes my knees shake like reeds every time.

How can someone look so much like a model 24/7? I apply makeup almost daily and I’m still not half as good-looking as him all day long.

Hitting his chest playfully, I look up directly into his green eyes. "Anyways, I heard you were looking for me. Is it about the flowers? They’re gorgeous by the way. Thank you for such a lovely gift."

He beams at my compliment and I swear I think I notice an eye roll but it might as well be my imagination. "I can buy an entire farm of roses for you if you’d like. Just say the word and the world will be yours as long as you’re mine."

Hmm someone has been doing their homework. "Why do you sound like the billionaires in my books?"

Lucas smirks at me. "Honey pie, I don’t know if you forgot, but I am a fucking Billionaire. Check my stats on Google."

I scoff at him and look away. He begins rubbing my back slowly until I turn my attention back to him when I feel the mood changing all of a sudden.

"What is it?" I ask running my hand on his beard.

"Nothing much, just me wondering if something is going on between Bella and you."

Leave it to my boyfriend to find out things that I want to hide from him in a matter of days.

"Why do you ask?"

He shrugs and takes out his phone before showing me a chat he had with Bella.
